According to Shahnaz Shahzadi, this was used on various occasions, including as gift-wrapping. On the day that the bridegroom's family sought the future bride's approval of the marriage, they brought her green sugar wrapped in these handkerchiefs.

The wedding spread set includes a mirror, two figural candlesticks, two marble vases, and a glass container with lid. Belonged to Shams al-Muluk ʻAzudi, daughter of Turan and Nusrat Allah Mirza Amir Aʻzam, wife of Najaf Quli Mirza Hisam al-Dawlah (Muʻizzi).
